I’ve been photographing the Village Profile for Richfield, MN since 2002. The Chamber of Commerce sponsors it bi-yearly, and the community map. During my assignment I’ve met many gracious citizens, business people and community leaders. There are many WWII vets in town, and I photographed the memorial featuring Charles Lindberg, a resident that participated in the flag raising on Iwo Jima. I also photographed a Pearl Harbor survivor, who’s battleship California BB-44 was sunk and later raised to fight again.
I’ve documented the city’s growth and changes, recently including efforts to build rooftop vegetable gardens for sustainable living. I enjoy the editorial freedom to choose the images and suggest the layout. If you’ve seen a guy with a Canon 1Ds at a Richfield event, it was likely me.
